The Trieste coffee vocabulary
5 October 2026Not just major events
9 October 2026At the heart of Trieste, Porto Vecchio – the historic port complex built by the Austro-Hungarian Empire between 1868 and 1887, comprising five piers and 23 buildings and spanning more than 600,000 square metres – is now undergoing a major regeneration as part of the Porto Vivo project.
As Generali Convention Center Trieste, we are among the first to have our “home” in this historic area, which is preparing to transform while remaining true to its roots and history. For us, this means being the heirs to a past that deserves to be preserved, enhanced and brought into the present.
The latest OICE report highlighted, among other things, the significant momentum that the positive trend in the congress and events sector is giving to the renewal of convention and event venues. In Trieste, events are also contributing to the revitalisation of this unique location: through our work, we see and experience this transformation every day.
