Here in Trieste, these are the busiest days of the Barcolana, as the event gets into full swing ahead of Sunday, 11 October’s sailing race.

There is growing recognition that major sporting events, such as the Barcolana, cultural events, including large-scale productions and special performances, and the MICE sector (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) are powerful drivers of high-quality tourism, local vibrancy and positive economic impact.

At Generali Convention Center Trieste, we see this first-hand. From the end of the pandemic through September 2026, we hosted 358 events at GCC, including conferences, trade fairs and other events, welcoming a total of 326,500 visits.

We are committed to continuing to contribute to the growth of business tourism by hosting major events in our Auditorium Generali. At the same time, we must not overlook smaller-scale events, which may attract fewer participants but are no less important.

That is why we would like to highlight that our two Magazzini offer medium- and small-sized spaces, with flexible, customisable layouts designed to meet a wide range of needs.
