In this year, 2025, where Gorizia takes center stage with GO!2025 – Gorizia-Nova Gorica European Capital of Culture, the theme of the èStoria festival is, unsurprisingly, “cities.”

The festival—one of the major annual cultural events in Friuli Venezia Giulia—begins on Thursday, May 29, and concludes on Sunday, June 1, featuring dozens of history-themed events that shine a spotlight on cities: from ancient times to the contemporary world, from those nearby—with a special focus, of course, on the cities of our region and the border that directly involves it—to those more distant.

Various venues throughout Gorizia will host the rich program, which responds to the demand for historical education and discussion, as well as to the broader cultural needs of our region. It stands as a testament to the region’s cultural vitality—especially this year, with Gorizia playing a leading role.
