IBBY 39th International congress
Between August 30th and September 1st, 2024, TCC will host the international congress of IBBY – International Board on Books for Young People, which has chosen Trieste for its biennial event. IBBY Italy, the national branch of the global organization, secured the 39th edition of the congress, which will be dedicated to the topic “Join the revolution! Giving every child good books”. The message advocates for the right to access books for all children and in support of their education, aiming to counteract inequalities.
This is a significant event that brings together members of IBBY and other individuals involved in the world of children’s books and reading promotion from around the world. It will see hundreds of people, including authors, publishers, illustrators, librarians, educators, and scholars, converging in TCC to participate in conferences, debates, seminars, and workshops that will take place in TCC. Additionally, the event will serve as the backdrop for the IBBY International General Assembly and the presentation of prominent exhibitions and celebrations such as the Hans Christian Andersen Awards and the IBBY Honor List.
